Support Us

We are deeply grateful to the many generous local organisations and individuals who ensure that we continue to provide emotional support, companionship, enjoyable and meaningful activities, and access to information and advice for people living with dementia in the Sidmouth area.

Ways you can support Sid Valley Memory Café

Thank you for your support.

Volunteering at Sid Valley Memory Café

Volunteers are at the heart of Sid Valley Memory Cafe and our Memory Cafe would not exist without the kind-hearted individuals in our community who freely give their time and expertise.  We have a number of volunteer roles – whether you’d like to play a part in the running of our successful Memory Cafe by meeting and chatting to our members or lending a hand with fundraising.

You do not need to have any expertise in dementia – although many of our volunteers have first-hand experience of living with dementia – but you do need an abundance of empathy, a non-judgemental approach and a natural ability to make people feel at ease.

If you’d like to volunteer with us, we’d love to hear from you.

Please message us through this website on  info@sidvalleymemorycafe.org.uk. Or call 07739 801568

Support us by fundraising for Sid Valley Memory Café

Our Memory Café is free for members, and although it is run entirely by volunteers, we do need to raise funds to cover our operating costs.

We are always looking for people to join our fundraising team, either as a committee member or as a volunteer to help at fund raising events. If you would like to help, please get in touch through this website or call 07733 801568.

“Caring for a loved one with dementia is such a whirlwind of emotion.”

Entertain for Sid Valley Memory Café

Entertainment is an important part of our Wednesday afternoon café meetings, and we are fortunate to be supported by many professional and amateur entertainers and groups. Music is recognised as a great benefit for people with memory issues, and “sing alongs” are also organised by our resident pianist.

If you, or a group/choir to which you belong, is available to help entertain our members, please contact Angela Thompson on 07733 801568
