Sid Valley Memory Café is a friendly, social meeting place for people with all forms of memory problems and their families and friends. We meet every Wednesday at Twyford House in Sidmouth and can assure you of a high quality experience.

On September 10th  2024 our memory cafe was proud and delighted  to be awarded the Devon Memory Cafe Consortium’s Quality Assurance Mark. This is a local initiative developed by the community and voluntary service organisations in Teignbridge, South Hams and Torbay and funded by the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. It is open to memory cafes in Devon which provide support, services and activities to improve the health and wellbeing of people in our communities.

The Memory Cafe Quality Assurance Scheme ensures that the policies and practices that we apply result in safe, caring, effective and responsive services.

The scheme helps build confidence and awareness among health professionals and the public about the range and quality of health and wellbeing activities and services that can you can find through memory cafes.

In this section of our website you can find out more about what a Memory Café is and who it is for. If you are interested in joining us, then learn more about when and where we meet and who runs the memory café.

We do not charge people to join our Memory Café, as we are funded through personal donations, grants and other fundraising activities.

Sid Valley Memory Cafe is a member of Devon Memory Cafe Consortium, a network that provides a wealth of further, in depth information about living with dementia and the memory cafe movement. You can find it here
